An interesting aside in this of the reasons that people have said that mirrors did not reflect vampires in the past but would now is the fact that silver was/is considered to have holy properties and vampires are often considered to be warded off by silver in some cases. Since most mirrors were silver backed or polished metal they would not reflect the image of the vampire.
I like the story it's an interesting one.

I always wondered why vampire's clothes did not reflect in mirrors. May be because of it's in vampire's possession? Well, in that case it creates funny situation, when the objects being possessed by a vampire also can't reflect in mirrors, like in road traffic, dude changes the line and gets crashed by Cadillac Convertible in the back and a vampire like "dude, what the heck, are you blind?!" and dude is like "well duh, I didn't see you in my mirrors!". Or when you in a vampire's mansion, you look into the mirror and see lawn and woods surrounding the building, lol)))
